hello, just installed your wonderful table. had some issues configuring p-roc but with the tuto here, finally made it worked. MASTERPIECE ! However just got an error after few seconds playing

edit oh forget it can t be able to get this bug again for the moment

one question though when i quit the table the dmd still lives i have to quit pinballx to kill it anyway for it to close with the table (controller.stop in the script ?)

Did you have the name PLAYER 1 when you started the game?
If you did I think maybe you didn't GiT PULL ?

Nevermind I managed to create my profile Chepas - once in the settings menu of the game, I pressed the B key to add a ball, and I could play Wink

There is a controller.stop but it was commented out, yes you can use that still but when VP closes, it will close proc as well.

That is weird to get that error early in the game.....it can give that randomly if build up of memory maybe, you would have to tell me where it happened. Theres also a log in p-roc/shared/log.txt

 I fixed an issue similar earlier but that was at the same point in the game, not early on.

Both randomly at 273 ? Sure you have the latest master GIT?

273 crashing there means nothing to me. To fix the shed I had to look at the screen and what was happening at the time of crash.

From that point I could trace it......if you see the log you will see the current modes running before crash.

Spoiler:

You should not have any errors so early in game. If you open command prompt in game folder and type GIT PULL.

One thing I can think of maybe is to search your folder for .pyc as well and delete all these.

These are compiled python and they are built when game is run. It may help.

Python print statements can cause random things like this. I had a file not commited. Hope that is it!.

This is the only difference I can see now of files. Very strange, never had that and you both have it.

ok i found when im having the issue. its when on the dmd there is a countdown with a clock on the top right . when the timer comes down to 15 i have the popup with the error 273. I will try your modification code. i really love your table btw perfect gameplay and atmosphere thanks for that  [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir cette image]

Chepas, can you explain the difference between the final battle and the master branch and which one we should use?

also i checked the table you uploaded in dropbox, i don't get what you did with the sounds, what are these snds sound checks like

If snds_RSling Then PlaySound "slingshotright", 0, 1, 0.05, 0.05

what do we have to do avoid hearing the sounds that have the snds in their names?

finally, when we update EvilDead from the source, we have to keep our config.yaml, are there other files we have to keep? or keep some data on it?

so if i modify the config file to put false for the osc variable i can t start the table, balls missing and if i put ball_search: True i have python errors

in fact with the ball_search option before the service one no python error

edit: set to true no python error but the table dont start balls missing
set to false python error

They're just branches (trees, roads), like when you want to make or test new things without harming the master branch. So with the final-battle branch I was working on that mode, but I did other stuff as well.

When you're finished you can Merge the branches into one. So, you were on my test branch. It shouldn't matter, because that was made from the master anyway, so it up to date.

If you load up the EvilDead GUI. exe . You can change all your settings here. This just changes the file config/game_user_settings.yaml.

You will see all the keys for the sounds there and others, but its easier to just use the interface. And I think all the sounds are selectable in the service menu as well all on the fly.

This is what the vp_live_config.py does. Like a two way config between VP & proc. You can see no matter which way it is I'm trying always to avoid hard code configurations in the VP script.

This file will never be updated from my end. If I did this,  then that would want to overwrite your config.yaml. So you generally just clone the folder and you get the config.yaml from git but is only changed on your side. The same for some config/settings.

The absolute best way to be current is to clone the master to Evil Dead. You could just remove your old files and do git clone.
Put in your assets.
You can pull in updates automatically if you wanted to and roll back anywhere.

the evil dead gui never worked for me, i get the popup error main returned -1 and then the program closes, i will check the game_user_settings.yaml
