Sujet: [TUTO] ZeDMD update Lun 23 Jan 2023 - 17:37
Here is the full procedure to update your ZeDMD:
1/ Update the ESP32 code:
Be sure that your ZeDMD is connected to the PC with a good USB cable.
Download the latest driver here https://github.com/zesinger/ZeDMD_ESP32/releases and save the zip file anywhere on your disc
Right click on the zip file then "Properties". If there is an "Unblock" box in the bottom right of the window, check it. Click "OK" to save and close.
Unzip the file on your disc.
Go to the "Windows Device Manager" by pressing the Windows button and typing "device manager"+Enter. In the "Ports (COM & LPT)" section, look either for the "Silicon Labs CP210X USB to UART Bridge (COMX)" or "USB-SERIAL CH340 (COMx)" corresponding to your ESP32 and note the digit(s) replacing the "X".
Right click on the "flash ZeDMD WWWxHH.bat" corresponding to the width and height of your LED-matrice panel and "Modify". In the file, change the "COM3" by what you found in the Device Manager and press Ctrl+S to save then exit.
Click on the file you've just modified to start the update. Caution: this is a common problem with the ESP32 that the upload never starts and this display shows that the connection is never done: In this case, you just need to press and hold the "BOOT" button until the upload starts. When it is started, you may release it.
The ESP32 is updated.
2/ Updating the code for the PC:
Download all the files here https://mega.nz/folder/LBRBUbSB#a0jB-IWa1YU7Ck_rW8hlwQ
Save them to your VPinMame Directory
Like you did for the ZIP of the ESP32 code, unblock all the ".dll" and ".exe" files if they are.
Check that the content of the ini file is as you wish (Virtual DMD, any real DMD, pinup, etc... enabled=true or false)
Be sure to check ingame that if you press "F1", in the new window displayed, "Use external DMD(dll)" is checked, if not, do it and click "OK" then exit and restart the table.
